Some favorite shopping sites

February 4, 2010 at 5:36 pm (Hair Bargains, Hair shopping, Lace Wigs) (, )

I will share with you some of my favorite websites, the ones that I visist most often and find the best offers:

All of these websites I have found to offer discounted prices, a lot of promotions and free shipping on orders over a certain amount. If the product you are looking to buy is not on sale at the time you are looking at it, check with the website’s customer service if they offer any special promotions or discounts for new customers or returning customers or bulk discount. Trust me, in most cases you will save yourself another $5.00
Another way to go about it is wait for a Special Event Sale: Valentine’s Day, Spring Sale, 4th of July, Labor Day weekend, Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Years. Websites awlays offer some discount for these special events, you can save yourself between 5%-50% off the original price.

I think this is a good start on bargain shopping for hair:) Till later!

Why I started this?

February 3, 2010 at 5:32 pm (Hair Bargains, Hair shopping, Lace Wigs)

When I was 16, I entered a world that many women of color find themselves in: the world of hair shopping. Sometimes I abhored the thought of it, the fussiness, the disappointment with my hair, and other times going to the beauty supply store excited me, and gave me something to look forward to. Probably many of us had these mixed feelings where one day you love the fact that you can change your hair style and manipulate it as you wish, and another day you just wish you didn’t have to do this.

Well, I had to, I chose to… I chose to buy hair weaves, or ponytails, sometimes wigs in order to get my hair to look the way I wanted it. I wanted to have control over it. Now that is all good but I recently came to the scary realization of how much money and energy and time I have spent per year on shopping around for the right hair product. Not only that but I witnessed how my friends, my relatives and many other women of color spend outrageous amount on their hair needs. I thought: this has to get under control… So I started looking at alternatives… I didn’t buy the first lace wig I saw in the store at my neighborhood. I resisted the $90 temptation and decided I would look else where to compare. Just like I usually do with purchasing a digital camera or a computer. So I was on a mission to find that same product but at a better price. Sure enough I did. And you want to know how much I saved: $45.00
Yes, my holding back was worthy.

So this is what this blog will be about. As I search for the best price or bargain on hair wigs, weaves and braids, I will post my results here to share with whoever needs this information.

The quest begins:)
